OpenGL is a client-server system. One computer can run the client, and the computer with the graphics hardware runs the server. Usually, the client and server are on the same computer, but you could easily run it over a network. I've never seen this in action though. (I imagine the pros have some use for it.)

What OpenGL wrapper are you talking about? The V1000's OpenGL is direct-to-metal. It is as close to the hardware as RRedline is.
